Vancouver - At the annual general meeting on Wednesday evening, September 21st, in addition to conducting the usual internal business of Le Centre, the members of Le Centre elected a new president, Mrs. Julia Stachowiak, by acclamation. She replaces Mrs. Jocelyne Doré-Lawson, who decided not to renew her mandate for professional reasons. Mrs. Doré-Lawson has been a member of the board of directors of Le Centre culturel francophone de Vancouver since 1995, initially serving as Vice President, and then as President since 1999. Mrs. Stachowiak has served as past Treasurer of Le Centre. In addition, Mrs. Marie Perron and Mr. Richard Gaudreau were elected as board members by acclamation. One position for a board member remains currently open. The present board of directors is very sorry to say good-bye to Mrs. Doré-Lawson and they express deep gratitude to her for her contributions, and wish her the best of luck in her professional endeavours. They also thank Mrs. Diane Goulet and wish her well. In addition, it is with gratitude and enthusiasm that the members of the board thank Mrs. Julia Stachowiak, Mr. Richard Gaudreau, Mrs. Marie Perron and Mrs. Luce Turgeon for having accepted to continue their commitment to serve on the Board of Directors of Le Centre. We ask our members, partners and the friends of Le Centre to take note of these changes. Source: www.lecentreculturel.com |
