The Board of Directors of The Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Guy Leclair to the position of Executive Director of the association. Mr. Leclair holds an Honours BA in French Literature from the University of Ottawa, and he began his career teaching French as a second language. From 2005 to 2010, he co‐directed the International Council for Canadian Studies (ICCS), acting as Executive Director. In this capacity, he completed governance related issues, has organized international conferences and seminars, and was Managing Editor of the International Journal of Canadian Studies. Mr. Leclair has been a member of various boards,committees, and working groups. He will assume his new position as Executive Director of CASLT on June 7th, 2010.

We are very pleased to welcome Guy Leclair on behalf of our members and stakeholder groups. He is widely acknowledged for his collaborative approach, his expertise in financial aspects, and his vast international experience. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in not-for-profit association management, government relations, and strategic planning and management; areas which fit with the strategic goals identified by the Board of Directors. He will enable significant growth of our association under his leadership, and we, the CASLT Board, National Council, and our membership, look forward to working with Mr. Leclair in the coming months.
