I visited Educacentre College yesterday. It is an Olympic Community Partner and heavily involved in the Games. But before describing my visit, I want to devote this blog to introducing the college, the only French language college in BC. It was founded in 1976. At that time, it was a community adult education centre only. Today, the college accepts students as young as 17. It has three campuses in Vancouver, Victoria and Prince George, with 1,500 students enrolled every year. It offers college-level programs like health care and event management and continuing education programs like languages and computer science. For those who want to finish their high school, the college’s basic education service will help them to obtain their grade 12 diploma. Educacentre College can also help immigrants adapt to their new environment or students looking for a job.
