On Sunday morning, I went to the Festival du bois at Mackin Park in Coquilam as a volunteer for the Tri-Cities Chapter of CPF. As I entered the big white tent where the CPF booth was located, there were about 16 teenagers playing the violin at the same time; everyone started to clap and some people even started to dance. Bonny from tri-Cities gave me a CPF Tri-Cities volunteer badge and a container full of lollipops to distribute to children. They loved the lollipops and kept on coming back for more. I must have given a good fifty or more away throughout the morning and part of the afternoon.
Outside, the park¡'s playground was full of happy children. Many interactive games were being played, and there were prizes to be won too. But it was the food that caught my attention: lots of Francophone-style food like poutine, tourtière, crêpes and sugar cane. Poutine was my favorite. Sunday night, I went to the Richmond O Zone to see the fireworks and the FIR concert. It was a long day, but I enjoyed it. |
