Trip to The Richmond Olympic Oval Print E-mail

As promised, I went to the Richmond Olympic Oval yesterday. It will be home to the Olympic Game's speed skating competition. As I walked beside the Fraser River, I notice a big pole with the venue name on it. This pole will  certainly be photographed many times in the days to come.

The venue was surrounded by decorated fencing of Vancouver 2010 for the final preparation before the Games. I found it to be a very pretty decoration!

The construction of the sidewalks around the venue and beside the Fraser River were finished. Lots of people were walking around with their children taking picture or just appreciating this beautiful building.

Sidewalk beside the river
At the intersection of the sidwalks, there are directional panels indicating the directions to the oval's main door and the O-Zone. It even tells you the distance and the exact time it takes to get there by walking but it was not bilingual.

There was also a poster that gave information about the Oval, which was also only in English. In fact, the only French that I noticed was the name of the venue which was in English and French.

Front of the Oval

If you haven't taken a walk around the Richmond Oval, I recommend that you go there very soon since it's going to get crowded very soon. Feeling the wind walking beside the Fraser River is actually very relaxing. It is also not a bad place to do your jogging there.
