First Anniversary for Français du Monde à Vancouver! Print E-mail

Hello everyone!

A year ago, on June 17th, Français du Monde was launched in order to connect the French newcomers of Vancouver and share the French culture with all the Francophiles of Metro Vancouver, French-speakers or not.

One year later, around 850 people participated in our 10 events ranging from the celebration of Bastille Day, "Beaujolais Nouveau", the King's Cake, the French cinema and the European Day to welcome French newcomers. Around 50 people also attended the first four workshops of Français du Monde à Vancouver, with even one taking place in Paris.

But the best is to come with the co-organization of the first edition of Make Music Vancouver this coming Tuesday from 5pm onwards in Gastown. So come and listen to more than 150 groups that will play all kinds of music styles such as: rock, hip-hop, classical, funk, world music, etc. "Make Music" is an event born in France 30 years ago and celebrated nowadays everywhere in the world: Paris, New York, Shanghai, Montréal… Every June 21st, music groups play in the streets for free to share their passion for music with the public. You will find more information about this free event on www.francevancouver.ca or www.makemusicvancouver.com.

And last but not least, start booking your July 14th evening as we are organizing a beautiful event to celebrate Bastille Day, the French national day.

We warmly thank all our volunteers who helped us throughout the year to set up those events. A warm thank you also to all our members for their enthusiasm and to our partners for their support without which all those events would not have been made possible.

We look forward to celebrating with you again very soon!
