Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel 5,000km within British Columbia, to perform foot taping traditional Quebecois music in front of over 4,000 students, to watch the sun rise from the foothills of Hazelton’s majestic mountains, to visit 14 cities and towns, and to do it all in 12 days? Well, welcome to the incredible world of CPF’s Bilingualism Rocks Tour. From October 21st to November 1st the CPF BC & Yukon branch, working in close coordination with your CPF chapter executives, helped bring La Part du Quetuex – a traditional musical group from Quebec – to big cities and small communities all across Central and Northern BC. The interactive socio-cultural performances were a smash hit with attendees of all ages and all language abilities. The songs were performed with great passion in both official languages which helped young audiences connect with our rich French-Canadian culture and historical roots.
